Jim and Ged

Bought this months Yachting Monthly today and saw an article in there about Jim and Ged's circumnavigation.

The article's a bit old (they were in Fiji) as they were in Australia for Christmas and New Year and, according to their website, should be in New Zealand now... Albert II's website

Race Week

The first race for us today is from outside Falmouth Harbour and up to Dickenson Bay. After a start worthy of a crew who only met each other ten minutes ago :-) we [eventually] get up to speed and on our way. (We do, of course, become a well-drilled, professional, racing team in record time but you have to start somewhere :-)

It quickly becomes apparent that we aren't going to be first in the queue for beers at Dickenson Bay (or any of the other races for that matter :-) but that's all part of the fun.

Jim, Ged, huge thanks for letting me come on board for the week and to Mike, Liz, Nobby, Fay, Simon and Naya for making it such a great week! Good luck and fair winds on your subsequent travels.

Mount Gay Rum Party

The Mount Gay rum party is over on Galleon Beach (good timing or what?) and by all accounts the rum is free from 1800-2000 so after a [fast] stroll :-) to English Harbour and a water-taxi across I find myself in paradise!

It seems all the crew off all the boats participating in race week are here so I get to meet lots of people and eventually run into Jim [Brockett] again.

Not sure which of us is worse for wear but he reiterated his offer to let me sleep on the deck of his yacht,
Albert II, and to crew during race week which is great news (I met Jim and his girlfriend Ged diving in Barbados)! Also on board [and crewing] are Simon, Naya, Mike, Liz, Fay and Nobby!

Over to Antigua

Flew from Tortola on Friday and check into the Ocean View Hotel. Situated overlooking English Harbour, the view is fantastic!

Drop my bags off, stroll down the hill and the first stop, the Mad Mongoose!
