Birra Birra!

Ben left the boat early this morning to get back to the IOW for the festival; myself, I had a leisurely day where I had to post a box of stuff back to the UK (and failed miserably) and then we went to another local (proper Greek this time) restaurant on the recommendation of one of the tradesmen (George) who was working on the boat that day.

Taking his advice, we took a taxi to the restaurant and had a superb Greek meal. If you ever get to Athens, the Birra Birra restaurant near the Skorpios hotel (down by the front) is well worth a vist. Reasonably priced food, good wine and an excellent atmosphere - superb!

Off to Cyprus tomorrow for the weekend, must post that box tho'!

Athens

Arrived in Athens via the Corinth Canal and, on the basis of recommendations from a 'local', we made it to The Flying Pig and had an awesome meal (and a few drinks).

Kefalonia

Got away on the 30th after a straight forward crane lift back into the water:

A good trip across the Med and down to the Greek Islands. Benny G caught a 10 - 15lb YellowFin tuna en-route:

We made it into Kefalonia yesterday afternoon and will be heading off for Athens this afternoon.

The weather is pretty much like the UK, wet, grey, dismal, etc. Just hope it clears for the trip through the Corinth Canal tomorrow.

Tomorrow...

The boat has been hauled out and all the work is practically done so, weather permitting, we shall be away tomorrow as soon as possible.

Sagaponack waiting to be lifted back in.

We've had a good week working on the boat and catching up with people we haven't seen for a while (a couple of years in some cases) and there's been a fair crowd with Bridg, Woz, Ben, Jamesey, Lindsay, Rob, Bruce and Rob's parents - all told an excellent weekend. :D

Change of Plans...

Well, best laid plans and all that...

Couldn't hire a car as 'all' the one-way cars in Cap D'agde were out so I had to taxi to the train station, take the train from Cap D'agde to Port Bou (Spain), change and get another to Barcelona.

Then the Barcelona underground, a 15 minute walk to the ferry port, a three hour wait, an 8-hour crossing to Palma and a taxi to the boat! All this in time for breakfast and a days work on the boat! Seems like hard work to me :D

Nice to see Bridg and Warren again! Also on the trip is Ben Galloway who found out two days ago that he is skippering one of the yachts in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race - nice one Ben!

Will hopefully be leaving here at the weekend but the boat has to be taken out of the water on Thursday as the ship that brought the boat over from the caribbean last week managed to drop Sagaponack and damage it - mmmm!!

Good Night

Got to Sagaponack, Bridg and Warren's boat, anchored off Eustacia Island, and had a few beers with them and some friends of theirs: Tim, Annie, Jock, Maz, Simon & Jo and a very good night was had by all.

The plan is water-skiing, wake-boarding, snorkelling and 'other' stuff tomorrow and then diving on Monday...
