Cap D'agde

Made it up to Cap D'agde today after 18 hours in heavy fog (with no radar) and handed over the boat this afternoon. The fog approaching was like something out of 'the Mummy' (film):

Same fog but moving in!

Hiring a car tomorrow and driving to Barcelona airport to then fly over to Majorca to join Sagaponack for the delivery to Athens.

Elba

A two day motor-sail to the Messina Strait and then a force 7 for the first 6 hours going through.

Mount Etna

Refuelled in Reggio Calabria, out of the strait and then headed North along the Italian coast to the sunny island of Elba. May be here for a few days as there's some not-so-nice stuff coming in...

Allez, allez...!

Got the boat ready to go yesterday. It was handy having Mike, the owner, on board as he knows the boat and where everything is. As such, it didn't take as long as expected to get done.

There's Colin, Wendy and myself on board and we should be leaving shortly: fresh fruit and veg, updated weather reports, speak to the office and then, when the bridge is open, we go...next stop Sardinia (hopefully).

Lefkas

Got let down by a mate on Saturday after the rugby so went direct to Gatwick and spent a nice comfortable (!?) night on the airport floor!

I met Wendy (Pollard) when she arrived around 1300 hours and the flight left on time and we got down to the boat - Inschalla - around 2100 local time.

A meal and a beer then time for some much overdue sleep!
